A young mother drops her child in a so-called baby box. Not much later the little one is stolen by two baby brokers to look for new parents who can pay the right price.

Ha Sang-Hyeon owns a small dry cleansing, which is actually a cover-up for the illegal trafficking of adoption children. With his partner in crime Dong Soo, he steals babies from the baby box at the church around the corner, to sell them to the highest bidder. The mother of the most recently stolen baby changes her mind and wants her son back, so she hires two zealous detectives.

‘Broker’ is a tender and endearing portrait of two child thieves. The film is bittersweet, funny and sad, but here and there it also reveals a warm family story, resulting in a road movie through South Korea with a social undertone and possibly even a tear.
