For anyone who was startled a few years ago by the Japanese film “Plan 75”, here’s a second dystopian movie, warning us for an overly utilitarian society, where only a productive person is still  has value. The dystopian aspect is mitigated by the warm tone, a lot of humour and a touch of magical realism.

When the government decides to ban everyone above the age of 75, because they no longer provide any economic value for society, Tereza sees no other option but to flee. She still wants to realise her ultimate dream, and for that she travels along the Amazon River to her destination. A journey full of rambling, encounters and adventures…

A sparkling, hypnotising, but also engaging and heart-warming film full of light and grit. In Berlin, this rebellious and unique film received the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize as well as unanimously favourable reviews from the international press. Its biggest trump card is Denise Weinberg playing the role of Tereza. Her acting makes of her character a stubborn, funny and compelling individual.
