MOOOV is building a beautiful new arthouse cinema in the center of Turnhout! The cinema, to be called FAAAR, will be located in the currently vacant Den Bond building on Korte Begijnenstraat. The site will create a vibrant and meaningful new space in the heart of the city. Construction plans were submitted at the end of October 2024, and if all goes according to plan, FAAAR is expected to open its doors in early 2028.
FAAAR: a city cinema with three screens for your daily dose of cinema
The cinema will have three screens, with a total of 267 seats. Every day, you'll be able to enjoy the best films being made worldwide. You'll see the latest Flemish and Belgian arthouse films, as well as highlights from European cinema, complemented by beautiful stories and innovative films from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and South America.
More than just film
FAAAR will offer more than just film. We're happy to expand our program with, for example, an introduction or discussion afterward, a meeting with filmmakers, a debate, and more. We organise film courses, look ahead and back at classic films, and other specials. There's also an extensive children's and youth program and a special program for schools. And of course, the MOOOV Film Festival will also be held at the FAAAR cinema.

A cozy atmosphere reigns supreme at Cafe RAAAF
For a pleasant chat (afterwards) or simply to relax, you're welcome at Cafe RAAAF. It's a contemporary café where you can enjoy a surprising and delicious meal, but also meet friends in the evening for a pint or a good cup of coffee or tea. An open and creative place where people can connect and connect. And above all, there's no pressure.
The Bondgenoten
MOOOV is not alone in this story. The renovation of the building on Korte Begijnenstraat into a new social and cultural hub in the city is a project of the Bondgenoten. Besides MOOOV, Avansa Kempen, Campina Energie, SAAMO, and beweging.net are also members of this group of like-minded organizations. Together, we will move into the building and co-house and work together. This will strengthen our mutual dynamism and collaboration.

Building a decent cinema costs money, a lot of money. MOOOV has already received a substantial boost from the Flemish government to finance the shell construction and is also investing the necessary resources. We count on your support for comfortable seating and top-quality projection and sound.
By making a financial contribution, you're helping us take another step forward in the construction of our cinema. This way, you're contributing to a place where you can watch films in the best possible conditions, meet up with friends, or participate in one of the many activities we'll be organizing.
You can make a contribution starting from 20 euros. Donations of 40 euros or more are eligible for a tax certificate and thus entitle you to a tax reduction. It's a win-win situation!
