mission
Since its founding, MOOOV wants to show a diverse world. We do this both on the big screen as beyond the cinema walls.
MOOOV wants to connect people through stories. Stories can transcend the individual. They bring about universal values and feelings. A powerful medium for these stories are films.
Films are being made all over the world, but only a small number finds its way to Belgian cinema. MOOOV searches all over the world for films and directors that combine artistic quality with relevant content.
vision
MOOOV is an initiator of all sorts of temporary and permanent activities built around the programming and screening of high-quality films from the five continents. The programming and screening of films take place in a context of awareness and education, to enhance the Belgian audience’s knowledge, respect and appreciation of cultures other than the Western one. It may undertake any kind of action to achieve this goal. It can also, though only in a secondary manner, undertake commercial activities, but only if the profits from these are devoted to the goal for which MOOOV was founded.

MOOOV operates in several ways:
Film Festival
For two weeks, MOOOV brings together a selection of exclusive films and festive activities at various locations across Flanders. Visitors can discover stories from all corners of the world in an accessible way. The Film Festival is a meeting place for everyone.
Filmclubs
Heel het jaar door organiseert MOOOV filmvertoningen, verspreid over België en op vaste momenten. Filmliefhebbers komen samen tijdens Zebracinema, CINEMOOOV en zomerse openluchtcinema’s.
Film Education
MOOOV supports audiences in exploring the content of films through Q&A sessions with directors, debates with subject matter experts, and free teaching materials for teachers. As a first step toward professional development, young people can learn to reflect, write, and vlog about film in the safe environment of MOOOV. In their free time, young people also have the opportunity to develop their own peer-to-peer programming.
Film Distribution
Every year, MOOOV acquires several films and distributes them to both big and small screens in the Benelux. MOOOV achieves this through a regular circuit, with a single screening each month in various cinemas featuring in-depth content that focuses on the film, its creator, and its themes.
