Simón Mesa Soto

Simón Mesa Soto is a Colombian director, screenwriter and film producer. He studied Audiovisual Communication at the University of Antioquia and gained a master’s degree at the London Film School. His thesis film “Leidi” won the Golden Palm in 2014. For his short film “Madre” he was selected once again for the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival. His short films were globally put on display at film festivals. “Ampara”, his first feature film, premiered in 2021 in Cannes and was shown at more than fifty international film festivals. “Un poeta” is his second feature film.
