Kleber Mendonça Filho is a Brazilian director, screenwriter and film producer. He started his career as a film critic and made the switch to making films in 2002, initially short films and documentaries. However, in 2012 he made his feature film debut with “Neighbouring Sounds”. His films “Aquarius” (2016) and “Bacarau” (2019) were both nominated for the Palme d’Or in Cannes. His most recent film “The Secret Agent” (2025) won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival, Best Non-English Film at the Golden Globes and was nominated for two Oscars.
