Akinola Davies

Akinola Davies Jr. is a British-Nigerian filmmaker, writer and visual artist. He made music video’s and commercials for companies such as Gucci, Kenzo and Louis Vuitton. In 2020 his short film “Lizard” won the Grand Jury prize for best short film at Sundance, and was nominated for Best British Short Film at the BAFTA Awards. His first feature film “My Father’s Shadow”, which he wrote together with his brother, premiered last year in Cannes, making history as the first Nigerian film to be selected for the festival.
