Does film make your brain work overtime, and does it make your heart skip a beat? What is more, do you enjoy putting things into words? The Young Critics Workshop helps give young writers a sharper eye and a deeper critical sense. We watch a number of films together during the MOOOV Film Festival and we discuss each other’s scribblings. Are you ready to be immersed in a bath of criticism, along with other young critical spirits and a very diverse range of films?
Cinea, Rekto:Verso and MOOOV present the Young Critics Workshop during the MOOOV Film Festival, where six up-and-coming film critics (between the ages of 18 and 26) are given the chance to report on the MOOOV Film Festival. The selected candidates write short reviews as well as one longer essay about a selection of festival films. While engaged in this task they will be guided by professional film critics every day.
The Young Critics Trajectory doesn’t stop when the MOOOV Film Festival ends. The Young Critics write regularly about the newest international film releases in Flanders for Sembène Cinema. MOOOV gives a voice to a team of young editors, made up of participants from the different editions of the Young Critics Workshop. Under the guidance of senior editor Ivo De Kock, they write about the newest international film releases in Flanders throughout whole year.
