‘La Jauría’ is a powerful thriller set in the Colombian rainforest. This critical tragedy openly poses the question whether it is possible for young criminals to mend their ways.

Eliú is sent to a re-education camp for youth offenders in the heart of the Colombian rainforest for a murder he has committed with his friend El Mono. Every day the teenagers perform heavy labour and get intensive group therapy. One day, El Mono is transferred to the same centre, bringing with him a past that Eliú is very much trying to escape.

Everything in this film is claustrophobic: the heavy heat, the insects, the sweaty bodies, the ominous green jungle. Impossible to escape, just like these teens never can break free from the lethal circle of crime and violence. This film portrays unruly, criminal youngsters from Colombia, who are deprived of a future even before they are born.
