Marwan Hamed

Marwan Hamed is an Egyptian film maker from Cairo with more than 25 years of experience. After his award winning short film "Lilly" (2001), he directed his first full-length film "The Yacoubian Building" (2006), one of the biggest productions in Egyptian film history, shown at the Berlin and Cannes film festivals. He made his breakthrough with both publicly and critically acclaimed successes, such as "The Blue Elephant" (2014), "Diamond Dust" (2018) and "Kira & El Gin" (2022), which set box-office records. His newest film "El Sett" premiered in December 2025.
