James J. Robinson

James J. Robinson is an Australian-Philippian filmmaker and photographer living in Los Angeles. He is known for his work in publications such as Vogue Australia, GQ Australia and Wonderland. As an artist he pleads for the deconstruction of oppressive power structures. Apart from that he is a support worker for people with a disability, additionally, he helps young men with autism spectrum disorder to become more independent. His documentary "Inang Maynila" premiered in 2021 at Nowness and was shown at the Brooklyn Film Festival. "First Light" (2025) is his first feature film.
