Annemarie Jacir
director
Annemarie Jacir is Palestinian filmmaker, writer and film producer, known for being the first Palestinian woman to direct a feature film. Her work focusses on the daily reality of the political situation in Palestine. She wrote and directed award winning films, such as “Salt of This Sea” (2008), “When I Saw You” (2012) and “Wajib” (2017). Her short film “Like Twenty Impossibles” (2003) was the first Arab short film in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Her newest film “Palestine 36” premiered last year in Toronto.
