Ana Cristina Barragán is an Ecuadorian screenwriter and film director. Her first feature film "Alba" premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2016, winning multiple international prizes. Her second feature film "La Piel Pulpo" premiered in 2022 at San Sebastián. This film won six Colibrí Awards and was displayed at the film festivals in Thessaloniki, Guadalajara and Munich. She directed multiple short films, such as "Ave" (2023) and "Domingo Violeta" (2010). Her third feature film "Hiedra" premiered last year in Venice. Currently she is working on her fourth film "Amapola".
