Enjoy one of the most beautiful Brazilian films ever in a totally new, digital and revamped version. Join the journey with the wonderful big beautiful Cinemascope format, from the Central Station of Rio de Janeiro to the interior of Brazil.

Dora, a former teacher, writes letters for illiterate people in the station of Rio de Janeiro, but she often doesn’t post them. When one of her customers dies, her son Josué gets left on his own. The woman’s last wish was that her son should find his father. Reluctantly Dora helps the boy in his search. Searching for his father, they travel across Brazil together and slowly grow closer to each other.

Everything about this heart-warming road movie seems to be just right. The images of the Brazilian landscape are beautiful, the direction is modest, the camerawork supports the story, the music is just right, the acting is powerful, the characters are not black and white and the story itself is simple and has a large universal message. The film’s strengths are its humanity and its sincere emotional tone. No big effects, but a film that slowly works its way under your skin.
