Iman is examining magistrate in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. He struggles with feelings of distrust and paranoia. As nationwide political protests escalate, his firearm mysteriously disappears. He suspects his wife Najmeh and daughters Rezvan and Sana of involvement and is imposes increasingly strict measures at home. Tensions within the family rise and become ever more threatening.
The film's most powerful scenes take place within the family context, exploring the tensions between the mother, daughters and their father. Together they embody the divergent tendencies in Iranian society. Iman, a law-abiding civil servant who strictly follows the government line, the daughters who, thanks to social media, are aware of what is going wrong in their country, and the mother who just wants to keep everything and everyone together.
