On Sunday the 26th of April we organise a special Palestina day, entirely dedicated to Palestinian cinema, photography by Fatma Hassona and gastronomy. No less than seven Palestinian films are scheduled. A unique opportunity to explore the richness, diversity and power of Palestinian cinema in one single day. Within Grand Café De Republiek and Café Korf we also shine an extra spotlight on Palestinian gastronomy so that you can explore Palestinian culture not only through film, but also culinarily. As a result of the film festival, Grand Café De Republiek offers a specially adapted lunch and in Café Korf you can try Palestine cookies, made by Buurtbakkerij Koekegoed.
Our goal with Palestina day is to create a warm and open atmosphere, where film, dialogue and gastronomy come together. A day to watch, listen, taste and be together.
There will also be various creative workshops taking place on this day.
Making friendship bracelets: A workshop on making friendships bracelets will take place at 1PM in de Foyer. This workshop is free, suitable for everyone over the age of 6 and signing up is not necessary.
Making memory boxes with Eva Sadek: A workshop on making memory boxes will take place at 3:15PM in de Foyer. During this workshop you will create a personal box filled with what you want to pass on to future generations, with room for creativity, reflection and connection. The workshop is suitable for everyone above the age of six years old and signing up is not necessary.
For the film festival Buurtbakkerij Koekegoed organises a workshop “baking Palestine cookies”. More info later.
