This film makes you realise how, for many people, life is simply a battle for survival, how innocence is lost and how vulnerability is exploited.

Eleven-year-old Ginto is trying to survive in the slums of Manilla. He ignores the concerns of his sister and falls into to drug taking and a life of crime. While struggling with his identity he meets Michael, a Dutch tourist who came to meet his Philippine online girlfriend. However, when he finds out that she has cheated on him, he wanders through the city in search of fun.

This film demonstrates the life of the poorest of the poor in Manilla. A world where children take to sniffing glue, where prostitution is part of daily life and where a Dutch man can carry out the most reprehensible acts without any problems. Thanks to cameraman Frank van den Eeden and strong acting performances from the Philippine actors, all of this is told through amazing images that speak a thousand words. The plot, written by the director together with Roelof Jan Minneboo, offers the audience the opportunity to enter this hard world without making any judgment.
