While taking care of her sick grandfather, thirty-year-old, lonely Azucena often thinks nostalgically of her past as a successful gymnast. She tries to connect with a group of orphans and becomes obsessed with seventeen-year-old Julio. Their growing bond leads to a trip to a lake at the foot of a volcano. The boundaries between affection, care and desire start to fade in this dreamlike environment.
A sensual and tender film that slowly creeps under your skin. The many close-ups make you feel like an intruder in the world of Azucena and Julio, where desire, loss and unrest are constantly in contact with each other.
