In a remote village in Macedonia, a young shepherd mixes beats, dreams and a forbidden love. A humorous and explosive coming-of-age film where rhythm and tradition clash in a colourful confrontation.

The young Ahmet lives in a remote village in Macedonia. He tries to find a balance between the strict demands of his father, taking care of his mute brother and his feelings for Aya. His hands tied by traditions he tries to find a way out through music. His dream to become a DJ is a silent rebellion against the life that religion and discipline seem to have already mapped out for him.

“DJ Ahmet” is a contagious and funny surprise full of joie de vivre. The film uniquely combines the serene silence of the mountains with pumping techno beats. With a memorable pink sheep and a compelling soundtrack this story offers a beautiful insight into a search for a unique identity. An unadulterated crowd favourite that sticks with you, makes you swing and leaves you with a smile.
