Film screening “A Sad and Beautiful World” with introduction

Merely a minute apart from each other, Nino and Yasmina are born in a hospital in Beirut. They fell in love with each other as kids, but this puppy love comes to an abrupt end when Yasmina’s parents divorce. Years later, they stumble across one another again, when Nino is involved in an absurd traffic incident. They don’t want to lose each other again, but the political instability in the country puts their relationship to the test. 

This Lebanese film won the Armani Audience Award at the Venice Film Festival. Sabrine Yaghi will provide the introduction.
