Nia moves to the Himalayas in the dead of winter to recover from a traumatic incident. She finds solace in the passage of time, the snow-covered environment and unexpected friendships. 

Nia, a young woman, travels to her family’s summer home in the Himalayas to discretely undergo an abortion. There, she meets a grandmother and her grandson. Via the mostly non-verbal interaction, a strong bond forms between the three, and Nia slowly heals from her trauma.  

‘Second Chance’ is a heart-warming comfort film, filmed in black-and-white in wonderful locations. The film is a loving ode to caring and a homage to the region where the director grew up. The film always remains sincere, tender and calm, without losing sight of its feminist and ecological standpoints.
