A funny, stylised film about wealthy people who never dare to take the leap and do what they actually want to do in life.

Billy used to be the singer of a popular boy band. Because of his marriage, baby and puppy, he had to exchange his career for a quiet life in a fancy but boring suburb. Frustrated, Billy tries to make sense of it all, and manages to do so when he meets the new neighbour, who also happens to be a fan. ‘Amor y Matemáticas’ is a sharp satire of the lack of imagination in the Mexican middle class.

‘Amor y Matemáticas’ is a funny satire on the Mexican middle class, only occupied by their own interests and the gathering of identical consumption goods. The characters are superficial and lack imagination. Full of style and humour, the unworldly bourgeoisie is flawlessly dissected. This, of course, cannot do without a touch of music and a secret love.
