Ernesto is a young forensic anthropologist in Guatemala, whose job it is to identify the bodies from the many unmarked graves. One day, a Maya woman called Nicolasa, comes and asks him to help her find her husband who was murdered in 1982 because he had provided food to the rebels. When she shows him a photograph of her husband with a rebel leader, Ernesto recognizes his father. A genuine and believable drama about the disastrous consequenses of the little known civil war in Guatemala.
This is an appealingly dignified, humane story of the repercussions of the little-known civil war in Guatemala in the 1980s as borne by the country's women.
