50/50: a more equal film industry?

Only 40% of MOOOV’s screened films this year are directed by women. Both in Flanders and internationally the film industry remains a male dominated world. But the inequality is being challenged, the Flanders-based WANDA Collective is highlighting these issues, while Rawiyat Collective questions the status quo in the Arabic film world. 

Moderated by Abbie Boutkabout, both collectives discuss how to tackle these issues, the conversations take the following questions into account. How is the situation today in Flanders, the Arabic world and on an international scale? Which obstacles do women have to overcome in the film industry? And most importantly, how can the situation improve?
