For Sama

An intimate and hopeful story about a woman's experience in a devastating war.

Waad falls in love with a doctor amidst the conflict in Syria. For five years she records their existence on film. Everyday life alternates with the horrors of the devastating war.

This is a much-needed injection of empathy. Although it is horrifying, it is a film full of hope: the couple gets married and they have a baby. This film is for her, for Sama. A radical film in which love triumphs over the horror of war.
