Under Claus Meyer’s umbrella, young Bolivians work towards a better future for their country. The purpose is to open a culinary place of world renown.

Celebrity chef Claus Meyer, world-famous as founder of the New Nordic Cuisine philosophy, comes from Denmark and grew up in a poor family. His world got turned upside down thanks to different encounters and he gained worldwide renown at a relatively young age. That is however not a life goal of his. This documentary proves that he is actively working on his legacy. First and foremost he wants to inspire the world with fine-dining. In one of the poorest countries in South America, Bolivia, he starts a career as a culinary entrepreneur and food activist: a daring challenge.

Two marked young ones, Mauricio and Maria, aspire to be chefs. They end up in the non-profit restaurant in the fine-dining cooking school of Claus Meyer in La Paz, which is called Gusto. From the origins of a small number of dishes, such as The Palmito, to the philosophy of local families, such as Le Bonheur ce qu’on veut, et le vouloir passionément, this documentary comes into its own with cinematography that you can almost inhale. The flavours of the local markets, of remote villages and of the kitchen caress your lips.
