Without money for transport, shelter nor food, five young street urchins from Medellín embark on an extremely dangerous journey to their promised land.

Five street children try to survive in the Colombian metropolis Medellín. The eldest, Rá, receives a letter appointing him as the heir of a large piece of land in the north of the country. Rá has always dreamt of having a place in the world where he can live freely and carelessly and decides to take his friends there. It turns out to be a long, dangerous journey.

‘Los Reyes del Mundo’ is not your average social film about poverty and injustice in Colombia. The dreamy, surreal images and dynamic camera work make this film very special. The camera is constantly on the characters’ skin: it runs with them, plays with them, climbs and falls with them. A more than justified winner at the film festival of San Sebastián.
